WDB-MOV and WV Jobs & Hope Host Second Chance Job Fair

The Workforce Development Board a of the Mid-Ohio Valley and WV Jobs & Hope hosted a Second Chance Job Fair Thursday, June 2nd from 10AM-2PM at the First United Methodist Church in Parkersburg WV. The goal of the job fair was to assist job seekers such as as ex-offenders or other barriers gain employment. SW Resources Randall Siers was a guest speaker on best practices for facilitating re-entry to the work place.

To help prepare job seekers for the Second Chance Job Fair workshops were held the previous week at our St. Joes Landing 5th floor offices. The workshops provided one-on one tailored resume assistance, mock interviewing and dress for success tips.

The Second Chance Job Fair was well received by jobseekers and employers with 51 jobseekers in attendance and 39 total employers.
